Pretty much, even some trims of the X5!

I can't believe BMW doesn't even offer their roadster in a stick anymore. It's like they have completely given up on their core audience. After many F3X loaners since I got my 335is all they have done to me is made me want to find a 328i touring daily with low mileage while I still can.

There are two strange things about this picture.

Agreed. But people are buying every last one of the coupe version of the fastback version of the etc., so that's why they make them.

The frigging roadster can't be had with ze stick?

I can see not offering Manuel in the X5. The take rate for that would be crazy low.

But a roadster is a car that's all about fun over practicality and performance. Not practical cause only 2 seats and not a huge trunk. Not the fastest performer because the coupe version of the same car will normally be lighter and more rigid. Roadsters are all about the feelz. They are EXACTLY the type of car that should be offered with Manuel.

Yep, I read it not too long ago. The Z4 35is was the last one, then they said screw it and whacked it so it's DCT only. I was so stunned when I found out I had to go build some and sure enough, can't be had with a stick.

I remember the first Z4's, a guy I knew had a 2.5i and that thing was actually a riot with a 6MT.... So sad.

CORRECTION: The Z4 28i I STILL can be had with a stick... but it's the only one.

Interestingly enough.

2004 contained 13 models with a vehicle production of 1,059,978 (81,536 average per model)

2013 contained 23 models with a vehicle production of 1,655,138 (71,962 average per model)

I got bored looking at income statements but I'm sure they are doing better.

They killed the X5M but kept the X6M? I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand I hate the X6, and think an X5M would make at least a little bit more sense, but on the other the X6M is so batshit crazy and stupid that I can't help but like it.

This is making me really sad. The stick is dying everywhere. Not just BMW. We see it all over the place.

And not only is the stick going away, flappy paddles have become too good.

As someone who owns a 6MT car, an SMG car and a DCT car I actually prefer SMG to DCTs. Reason is because it's more engaging. You have to pay attention to revs and modulate throttle to drive SMG smoothly. But you don't have to do anything to drive a DCT smoothly. And not only that the human brain is worse at controlling a DCT around town than the computer is because it's difficult to time your shift points in a 7 speed DCT as well as the automatic mode can.

I love my DCT in heavy traffic and in very, very fast driving. But it's super boring for commuting around town. The stick is the most fun around town, followed by a 6 speed single clutch robotized manual.

In all seriousness, they did not kill it, as Logansteno posted elsewhere there are actually a number of items that have been added since this was posted and others that are just on temporary hiatus because they haven't been launched for the new generation yet (i.e. new X5 hasn't had its "M" version come out yet).

To add to this list, you've got all 4 GC's, the M3/M4 (still hate that), and more which are on their website but not this chart yet.
